The Lady of the Lake was an important figure of Arthurian Legend and medieval storytelling. She was often mentioned to have enchanted Merlin.

Biography[]

When Alex and Arthur wanted to collect a part of the old tree on the island in the middle of the lake, Nimue was pleased at first, saying she didn't get visitors very often. When she found out they were on friendly terms with Merlin, she lost her cool and trapped them to lure Merlin to her. Nimue threatened to harm Alex and Arthur unless Merlin came back to her. When he grudgingly agreed in order to save them, Nimue failed to keep up her part of the deal and tried to harm them anyway. Mother Goose stepped in and evaporated the entire lake.[1]

Physical Appearance[]

"A geyser of water rose out of the lake like a fountain in slow motion, twisting and looping through the air until it formed the shape of a woman. Like a heartbeat, every few seconds a ripple started at her chest and traveled through her whole body."[2]

The Lady of the Lake, or Nimue, as Merlin called her, could change her appearance and command the water of the lake at will.[3] She worked hard keeping the water of her lake clean and scared off any birds bathing in it.

Personality[]

She had a history with Merlin; he said they were never together, and she trapped him in a cave for a month against his will; Nimue called him her lover and claimed it was romantic.[4]

Mother Goose, with her charming way with words, called her "H2O", "Oversized Puddle", "Lunatic of the Lake", and "Wet Wench". Merlin chipped in and called her "Miserable Pond".
