"This was Hans' favorite spot to decompress. Whenever his head was filled with too many ideas to concentrate, or empty of all imagination, a simple walk to the promenade always took the edge off."[1]

The Langelinie promenade is situated by the Øresund coast of Copenhagen, Denmark. Among the many statues and monuments in the Langenlinie area is the famous statue of the Little Mermaid, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale.

In the Land of Stories series, the book Beyond the Kingdoms starts with Hans Christian Andersen taking a walk down the promenade to find inspiration- it's also the place he occasionally meets the Fairy Godmother.

Hans calls the promenade a "place of unlimited possibility", and recalls how it made him happy as a child to imagine all the things that could happen there.[2]
