Description[]

It was a massive white structure with thousands of windows, dozens of tall towers, pointed roofs, and sharp spirals the color of the night sky. The castle sat on a stone base surrounded by trees at the peak of the hill, which made it look like it was growing out of the mountainside.[1]

Neuschwanstein

Neuschwanstein was a castle in Bavaria, Germany by the town of Hohenschwangau. It was built by King Ludwig the II - Mother Goose claimed this was done as a favor to her because she was friends with "Wiggy". She asked him to build the castle to cover the portal to the Land of Stories.[2]

Neuschwanstein Castle during the day

Neuschwanstein was one of Germany's most famous landmarks and received over 1.3 million visitors per year. It can be viewed in all its splendor from the Marienbrücke (Mary's Bridge); which Conner and Bree also crossed.

History[]

Emmerich, a boy from Hohenschwangau, lead Bree and Conner into the castle at night so they could look for the portal. They entered through a hidden tunnel that lead to the storage room of a gift shop inside the castle. Conner found the deserted castle a little creepy. There were many animal carvings in the windows, animal figures on the mosaic floors and paintings of mythological and religious figures. They looked at the Throne Room and King Ludwig's bedroom, but neither felt like the right place for the portal. In The Singers Hall, on the fifth floor, they found what they were looking for: a large painting of a magic garden. Conner used the magic panpipe to open the portal and he, Bree and Emmerich were sucked into it.
